BURLINGTON, Mass., USA - The most productive users of 3D printing will convene on beautiful Cape Cod just after Labor Day for a week of exclusive networking, education and hands-on experiences with fellow members of the 3D printing elite. Z Corporation's 9th Annual User Group Meeting, Sept. 9-12 at the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis, Mass., will bring these
Z Corporation printer and scanner users together with executives, engineers and valued partners in the leading 3D printing/scanning event of its kind.

The event has gained a reputation as the industry's premier showcase of 3D printed parts, especially because of Z Corporation printers' unique ability to print models in multiple colors.

"The wide spectrum of color models and prototypes, and the range of industries represented, were unprecedented," industry consultant and analyst Terry Wohlers said of the 2005 and 2006 events in a Time-Compression Technologies magazine article titled, "A Jaw-Dropping Display of Color Models" (Jan. 1, 2007).

Wohlers said color models are especially important for emerging markets such as architecture/engineering/construction (AEC), geographic information systems (GIS), medicine and entertainment (e.g., the printing of avatars and action figures from video games): "Without color, the growth of these markets would be slow or they may not develop at all."

The Annual User Group Meeting is also the best venue to discover firsthand powerful techniques for creating compelling physical models. In addition to the eagerly anticipated parts contest, the event offers a dozen workshops covering best practices and advanced part creation. Z Corporation customers like University of Michigan and Reebok will demonstrate their own 3D printing expertise and its impact on their business performance.

Agenda highlights:
The agenda is packed with stimulating people, events, concepts and learning opportunities. It kicks off Sunday with a cocktail reception and presentations from vendors of hardware, software and post-processing products complementary to the Z Corporation printing and scanning experience. These vendors and others will also exhibit in Monday afternoon's Vendor Fair.

Monday morning begins with opening remarks from User Group Meeting President Don Fosnacht, director of the Center of Applied Research and Technology Development - Natural Resources. It features a company and industry update from Z Corporation CEO Tom Clay, followed by a new product preview by Roger Kelesoglu, Z Corporations' director of customer development. The rest of the day is dedicated to the Vendor Fair and workshops.

Tuesday will feature customer demonstrations, special interest groups and a materials overview. The whale watch/sunset cruise will give everyone a chance to unwind, mingle and experience the natural wonders of the Atlantic Ocean. The meeting wraps up Wednesday with more customer presentations, customer wish list reviews, the 3D Printing User Group business meeting, parts contest winners and concluding remarks from Fosnacht.

"We look forward to learning from our customers and their many successes, and sharing a few surprises of our own," said Clay. "It is the open sharing of customer experiences that makes our community a real asset to our company and users of our technology worldwide."
