Seoul, South Korea - Dec 1, 2008, INUS Technology, Inc.(www.rapidform.com), the developer of Rapidform® 3D scanning software, announced that it will demonstrate the latest innovations in 3D scanning software at EuroMold 2008 from December 3rd to 6th in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. In Hall 8 - Stand F11., INUS Technology continues its campaign to offer point processing with seamless CAD-compatibility. Just as Rapidform XOR provided users with native CAD models from scan data, INUS Technology will be highlighting XOV/Verifier™2, with seamless CAD compatibility for both CAD geometry and for Product Manufacturing Information (PMI). INUS Technology will also showcase the ongoing improvements to XOR/Redesign™2 and XOS/Scan™2.

Rapidform XOV/Verifier™2 INUS Technology will unveil the 1st release candidate version of CAD-friendly point cloud inspection software, Rapidform XOV/Verifier™2 at EuroMold 2008 for the first time. XOV2's features complete fidelity with Siemens NX and with Pro/ENGINEER's Wildfire. Calvin J. Hur, INUS Technology's senior vice president of marketing & global sales, explains that "XOV's CAD compatibility has been fully tested by several of our well-known and most demanding customers. SONY and LG have exercised the transfer of PMI and in particular the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancin(GD&T) annotations from CATIA, NX and Pro/ENGINEER, and verified that the fidelity of transfer exceeds the performance of the competitors." To the user, this means that the designer's intentions are seamlessly transferred from the CAD model into the inspection plan, avoiding the errors introduced by additional data entry and interpretation. According to Hur, "XOV2 offers a familiar CAD-like GUI, making it the easiest point cloud inspection software, and yet, XOV2 offers the most accurate and repeatable inspection results. Until XOV2, this unique blend of ease-of-use and performance has been unavailable to the market."

Rapidform XOR/Redesign™2 XOR2 is building on its dominance as the preferred solution creating native CAD models from scan data. Hur said, "In the year since the last EuroMold, the marketplace has made XOR the standard for Reverse Engineering into CAD. Unlike second generation (2G) modelers that require a watertight mesh, then a NURBS surface model to get into CAD, XOR's unique 3G process enables native CAD models to be created directly from the dense point data. XOR has been the principal engine for INUS Technology's considerable 40% growth over the past 12 months." XOR's preeminence has been further confirmed by the customers who have abandoned their competitive 2G modelers, in favor of XOR's CAD like operation. Hur continues "We've made the whole process even easier by offering automation. For example: our Loft WizardTM that creates parametric lofted surfaces from freeform shapes. These CAD entities, like the reference geometry, primitives, the lofts, fillets, etc. are transferred step-by-step as native CAD models, complete with the full history tree. In less than 1/3rd the time, you have a native, editable, parametric model in Pro Engineer Wildfire, SolidWorks and into Siemens NX. That's seamless CAD-Compatibility, and no other modeler can do that."

Rapidform XOS/Scan™2 There is a class of customers whose scan data doesn't need to be edited in CAD. Medical appliances and artistic scans generally don't need to be represented as a parametric CAD model. For these customers, INUS Technology's 2G modeler offers unprecedented ease of use. XOS2 employs extensive wizards to automate all the mesh modeling steps, yielding a watertight STL mesh. For the NURBS surfacing step, users can select between automated mesh generation or manual patch layout, or a combination of the two. For verbatim modeling, whether mesh or NURBS, XOS2 offers automation and a value point second to none.
