RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., March 19, 2002 - Geomagic announced today that it has signed an agreement with PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the product development company™, to offer end-user interoperability solutions built on PTC's Granite One. Granite One is an interoperability platform based on the unmatched geometry, feature and data exchange capabilities at the core of Pro/ENGINEER™, PTC's market-leading 3D product development software.

Under the agreement, future versions of Geomagic Wrap, Geomagic's software that automatically converts points to polygons, and Geomagic Qualify, the company's graphics-based quality assurance solution, will be built on PTC's Granite technology.

"Through Granite, PTC is allowing companies like Geomagic to develop applications that give customers the tools necessary to create exceptional products," says Brian Shepherd, senior vice president, MCAD Solutions & Technical Marketing, PTC. "Granite's associative interoperability ensures a smooth path between Geomagic and other products built on Granite, such as Pro/ENGINEER."

"Geomagic has pioneered intuitive solutions for processing points and polygons into Pro/ENGINEER and other CAD-compatible solid or surface models," says Peter Scott, Geomagic's vice president of engineering. "Adding Granite One gives us a feedback loop from CAD files into Geomagic software. This will open up new opportunities in reverse engineering and quality inspection applications."

Within Geomagic Qualify, for example, Granite One will allow Pro/ENGINEER models with features to be used as the master file for comparisons with points obtained from scanning a physical part. Geomagic Qualify users will only have to set up a comparison once to benefit from an automated, repeatable and accurate inspection process.
