RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 21, 2001- Geomagic, a developer of software that enables mass customization, has named James H. Johnson vice president of worldwide sales and business development.

Johnson was most recently vice president of regional sales for Vivant Corp., a supplier of automated e-procurement solutions. For seven years, he was senior director of the central region for Autodesk, the world's leading CAD/CAM software company. At Autodesk, he worked with a staff of 40 and an extensive reseller channel to generate revenue growth of 300 percent in that region.

Before Autodesk, Johnson held sales management positions in engineering technology companies such as SDRC, Context Corp., Adage and Tektronix. He has consistently been a leading producer since he entered sales management in 1977.

In his new position with Geomagic, Johnson will set sales plans and goals, manage the worldwide sales team, recruit and develop channel sales, and develop business relationships with major accounts and other technology companies in the forefront of mass customization.
