Eighth grade students at Prairieville Middle School in Ascension, LA are using Google SketchUp to learn how to apply measurements and design a new middle school. Google SketchUp allows the students to easily and accurately make 3-D models. Each student chose a different part of the project to design. Once the students are finished with their separate parts, they will be brought together and presented to the principal as a design recommendation for a new school.
Imagine how easy it would be to use Google SketchUp to create a CAD file to use on one of 3D Systems’ 3-D printers! The students could create a miniature 3-D model of their new school by sending their CAD file to the Pro Parts Marketplace. We believe these kids and Google SketchUp are part of the 3-D Printing future.
